Frilled and Feathered was born out of my love to create. I've experimented with many many mediums, but when I found metal & fire, I knew they were the ones for me.

I'm influenced by my 80's childhood, Japanese street fashion, and Victorian era fashion.

Frilled and Feathered is about life…fun, love, silliness, pride, and sometimes darkness, regret, hard decisions and sadness. Kristen tries to incorporate all aspects of life in her work, but what comes out most is silliness.
When you’re able to laugh, all the other things just don’t seem that bad.

Each piece is made from scratch start to finish. I never use patterns (even self created ones) so the nature of my work is to be completely unique. There will never be an exact replica of anything I create.
The truth is, I just like to play with metal, hammers, torches, & chemicals.
